Immigrant Nation is a cross-platform project that uses personal narratives to explore the notion of immigration, past and present, through storytelling. It consists of three components:
- A series of short documentary films, each seen through the eyes of a different subject in the midst of an unfolding immigration story
- An interactive, online platform where users experience immersive stories about immigration, share their own stories, and explore the interconnectedness of these narratives
- Live events in schools, museums, film festivals and other public spaces designed to engage diverse communities in sharing their collective immigrant story
The elements of iNation are an interactive experience that helps users connect to their own story, and enables them to see the common threads between the stories of new immigrants and longtime residents — making immigration personal, while putting immigration trends in historical context.
