iNation Media is a full-service production company dedicated to creating stories about the immigrant experience in the U.S.

iNation amplifies the voices of immigrant communities to create complex and nuanced narratives rarely seen in today’s media. With more than a decade of experience working with immigrant communities, the iNation team creates feature-length documentaries, short-form web series, and branded content that has shown work on the New York Times, Nationally broadcast on PBS, and been screened in hundreds of communities across the country.

Theo Rigby
Founder/Director

Theo Rigby is a director, cinematographer, and interactive storyteller based out of San Francisco. He has been creating stories focusing on the immigrant experience in the United States for over the last decade and is the founder of iNation Media.

Theo recently finished Waking Dream, a short documentary series about young undocumented people with DACA permits that was funded by ITVS and distributed on the IndieLens Storycast Youtube channel. He is currently in production on Sanctuary Rising, a feature documentary about the faith-based Sanctuary movement.

Theo’s past projects include Immigrant Nation, The Caretaker, The Mayor, Marathon, and Sin País, which have been nationally broadcast on POV, showcased on the New York Times, and screened at film festivals around the world.

Theo has been recognized with an Immigrant Rights Leadership Award from the City of San Francisco, is a 2018 JustFilms Rockwood Fellow, 2020 Jewish Film Institute Fellow, 2021 Logan nonfiction fellow, and won a Student Academy Award for his film Sin País. His work has received support from the MacArthur Foundation, Tribeca Film Institute, ITVS, San Francisco Foundation, and the Emerson Collective among other foundations.

Theo graduated with a M.F.A. in Documentary Film from Stanford University and before making films was an award-winning photojournalist working for major newspapers and magazines around the world.

  • Florencia Krochik

    Director

    Originally from Argentina, Florencia Krochik’s past work has been supported by the Sundance Institute, the Gotham Film & Media Institute, Women in Film and Film Independent. Florencia has tied her personal experiences as an immigrant into her career as a filmmaker, bringing personal human stories to life, both to raise awareness and activate change. 

    Her first feature documentary film, THE REST OF US (2021), followed the lives of a group of undocumented youth over an eight year period and was the Closing Night Film at the Downtown Los Angeles Film Festival where it also won “Best Picture”. 

    In addition to her work in Documentary, Florencia has directed commercials and branded content focusing on the stories of underrepresented communities, including campaigns for Doordash, Target and Ebay. 

  • Daniel Chavez Ontiveros

    Editor

    Daniel Chávez-Ontiveros studied filmmaking at the National School of Cinematographic Arts (ENAC-UNAM) in Mexico City. Shortly after, with grants from FONCA/CONACYT for studies abroad and from the Jumex Foundation, he graduated in 2016 with an MFA in Documentary Film and Video at Stanford University. His thesis film El Cisne (2016) was awarded the UNAFF Youth Vision Award (2017) and the Audience Award in the Program of Sexual Diversity at the Morelia International Film Festival FICM (2016). He works as an editor and assistant editor in short and feature documentary films in the California Bay Area. In 2019, he edited the feature-length documentary 499 (Dir. Rodrigo Reyes). The film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival 2020. At this festival, Daniel was nominated for Best Editing in a Documentary Film. In addition, 499 has received awards at HotDocs, Tribeca, and EIDF. Currently, he’s editing the ITVS funded film Sanson and me (Dir. Rodrigo Reyes).

    Daniel is co-director of Video Consortium México (VCMX), a non-profit organization that focuses on building community in the documentary scene in Mexico and promoting the work of emerging Mexican documentary filmmakers.

  • Orlando Torres

    Assistant Editor / Sound Recordist / DP

    Orlando Torres is a Mexican-American filmmaker with a Bachelor's degree in Cinema from San Francisco State University. He has directed four short films including the award-winning animated documentary, Amended Shards about his cancer journey, and I AM FULL, a short narrative horror film completed in 2019 and currently screening in the festival circuit. Orlando has worked as a director of photography, editor, photographer, motion graphic designer, and production assistant for: iNation Media, Solano College Sports Network, Papyrus, feature documentary films and corporate commercials. He hopes to continue his passion for filmmaking in the years to come hoping to influence new ideas and conversations that will move his audience like they have never been moved before.

  • Luis Quiroz

    Social Media / Marketing Consultant

    Luis Quiroz is the Founder, CEO and Lead Consultant at Trending Socials. Over the span of his career, he has managed social media marketing campaigns for the City of San Francisco, and dozens of brands, bloggers, and small businesses. He has also been a collaborator of iNation Media, supporting projects like "Waking Dream" and "Si Pudiera Quedarme / If I could Stay."

    Luis is a former DACA recipient and an immigrant from Guerrero, Mexico. He arrived to this country as an infant after his parents left their home in search of a better future for him and his other siblings. 


    Luis works as a marketing consultant and is an advisor for the Small Business Development Centers of America providing technical assistance and marketing support in low-income communities to budding entrepreneurs and small business owners.

    His own immigration journey has deeply influenced his work and the clients he serves.

  • Lonnie Frazier

    Impact Producer

    Lonnie Frazier is an impact producer and documentary filmmaker committed to amplifying voices and stories that inspire change. She collaborates with filmmakers to design thoughtful impact and outreach campaigns that help important films reach the audiences who need them most — from classrooms and communities to policy spaces and grassroots movements. Her work spans immigration, disability rights, mental health, and education, with a focus on stories that don’t often receive the attention they deserve. Her lived experience with disability informs her commitment to access and inclusion, both on screen and off. She has contributed to the campaigns of award-winning films including Si Pudiera QuedarmeDEEJ, Not Your Model Minority, and Between the Mountain and the Sky, bringing care, strategy, and a deep belief in the power of storytelling to every project she supports.
